How I did it: Craigslist! Someone gave me a couple hundred bucks for my old (1992) Bridgestone RB-1 (GREAT bike, but heavy, and it was always too small for me), and I found a Carbon fiber 2001 TREK, in USPS team paint. A bike mechanic did some repairs and sold it for a customer, I bought it for $750 and I LOVE it! Next: triathlon bars on it... Read how I did it… 2 years ago

I don’t believe how quickly I reached this goal! Today I got myself an old Peugeot racer. Okay, that’s a lie. My daddy bought it for me. But I was the one who found it and decided to get it. And I’m going to fix it up myself. I need new tires, maybe new pedals (the ones I have are clipless pedals) and a headlamp and backlight as well.
I love my new bike. His name is ‘Da Steinbock’. Red, btw. And super light and agile. Compared to my last bike, at least… Can’t wait to go on a bike tour! 4 years ago
I really want a racing bike. They look so sleek and elegant. The bike that I have at the moment is just way too heavy, doesn’t have brakes and I cannot change the gear without the chain falling off.
Having a bike is a must for a poor little girl like me in London. I cannot afford to get a weekly travel card, so I walk most of the time. But this means I am very limited when it comes to area coverage. I never really get out of my neighbourhood anymore.
Also riding a bike is just amazing. When walking I don’t look at my environment, I just listen to music on my iPod and walk down the street. When riding a bike I have to be more attentive and take in more from the city and people around me. Also it’s the best work out you can get while minding your everyday business. 4 years ago
