make 2008 the best year yet

Well, 2008 is almost over, but this has been a great year! To top it off, we just got a new house! My daughter has a ginormous backyard and a full basement for a playroom. The houses in our new neighborhood are adorable and we’re living on a cul-de-sac with no through traffic, so all the children play on the street. Even still, we’re not in a humdrum suburb with cookie-cutter houses—every house is unique and we’re still in downtown. I couldn’t ask for more!

On June 2nd I hit one full year in this town. I have to say, I LOVE this city! I don’t know what it is about it…... but this is the first time I have felt “home” since I left my hometown in Florida (of which is like Uranus to me now, full of strange aliens to me :P). I am very pleased…

After having a relaxing day watching flicks, reading, and baking, I read 3 chapters of The Secret Garden to my little Girl, then put her to bed. I made a lamb stew, wrote 3 new pieces for my next release (that just keeps growing like a garden!), and then put on my ballet slippers and danced in the living room for hours. My Bebe came over after wine-tasting with colleagues and made homemade shortbread (as well as danced with me in the living room :: grin :: ) before going to sleep, listening to the rain against the windows, and having stellar pillow talk. :)

2008 is ALL about reconnecting with the simplest of pleasures!

• Lose at least 20kg
• Take (and pass) the “jlpt” Exams
• Take my driving License
• Take my English Proficiency
• Find a job
• Take my Diploma
• Fix my House
• Plan our wedding
• Pass The “ImageMaker”
• Complete At least 2 artistic projects
• Take at least 1 commission
• Try to love my self
• Go to at least 2 Concerts
  Went to a “Rotting Christ” live [They always ROCK!]
  (one down, one to go :P)
• Throw a party for no special reason
• Become more social

... and this year is turning out to make up for 2007. My daughter is doing really well, I have a fantabulous job, our house is getting cuter every day, I am in a powerful love, and I am finding it easier and easier to manage my time as a single Mom. Spring is here and that means we’ll have even more fun enjoying the outdoors and sunshine. I have REALLY learned how to reconnect with the simple pleasures that life has to offer, and there is no end to my creative inspiration these days. 2008 is rockin’!

My baby girl & I woke up to snow flurries. She was so tickled, so we bundled up tight and frolicked around in the wee bit of North Carolina snow that we get. It was our FIRST NC snow on the first of January and the first day of 2008…... a lot of first and a lot of brisk play.

2007 was a year of change and discovery, adventure and rebirth, courage and a whole lot of daring.

2008 is going to be about reinvention and happiness, growing and dreaming even BIGGER.
