Spent about four months on that second sock, but I finally got my bum in gear yesterday during the Superbowl and knocked the rest of the toe out!!
I did it!

Best way to avoid second sock syndrome in my own experience is to not graft the toes together on the first…just place those last stitches on a holder, and then start the second sock…that way you dont have that FO fix.
Then when the second is finished..you can graft the first..and then the second at one sitting.
There is the first sock of the pair that I am working on right now. ( pictured) I have those last stitches on a peice of yarn waiting for number two to be finished.
Your first sock won’t be lonely! You can officially check the project off your list!
Like I said in the previous entry, I added this goal because I was nearly there already. Still, it is a nice feeling to see the socks I made on my girlfriend’s feet. She says they’re cozy.

First sock done!
I’ve finished the toe and sole of the second sock. Turned the heel and am half way up the ankle.
Perfect time to adopt this goal is when you’re 3 inches from completion. It’s a simple tube sock pattern, but it’s still a lot of fun to make. People are amusingly impressed by seeing somebody working on double-ended needles. If they only knew how easy it really is :)
