I’ve had ZOOM whitening done once. The procedure lasts for 3 hours and they coated my teeth with 3 or 4 treatments. You must sit stationary in a chair, have the dentist/assistant apply a layer of whitening solution (hydrogen peroxide compound) that is activated with a UV lamp directly placed in front of the teeth – apparently the light activates the peroxide to whiten. Once one layer of compound hardens another is added, and so on. When this process is completed the tray with compound is removed from your mouth and your teeth are amazingly MANY shades lighter. The process cost me $500 dollars and the results were awesome. You’re advised NOT to eat dark berries, drink tea or coffee, or anything dark for at least a day or 2 after the procedure. Teeth may be sensitive and able to stain more than usual immediately after the procedure. My whitening was REALLY bright for probably 2 weeks after the procedure and then they gradually begin to dull again. My dentist gave me supplementary self-whitening kits (not like over the counter brands) that can only be gotten at a dentist’s office. They worked great to supplement the ZOOM whitening. If you do this, you’ll probably love the result!
