go overseas to teach English

just to France though, nowhere mad exciting

Sometimes I wonder if I’m cut out to be a teacher. I get so angry sometimes and frustrated that I wonder what it’d be like to quit. I am sane of course and quickly end that thought. Just thinking about it though, it aggravates me that I went through college and it’s basically my first full year(from start to end) teaching and I get treated like I should know how to do all these things already. Sometimes I feel like I’m still a student learning from all these other more experienced teachers.

I do like my students. For the most part and the ones who are not as likeable, well I can handle them. It just drives me mad sometimes that people expect others to get things on the first try/time. I get aggravated if I have to repeat something more then 3/4 times. Noone is perfect I get that. Why are so many administrators/parents/etc trying to drive teachers crazy? Stop with the excuses and just try to help. If you try, I can understand it. If you don’t well you kind of get what you deserve.

Treat others as you would have them treat you. If you wouldn’t go putting someone down that you really don’t know, then don’t do it! If you don’t want to feel lower then pond scum and like you shouldn’t be in a school, don’t make others feel like it!

Ok, my rant is done. Sorry if I’ve mad this entry now unfun.

I’m angry about something with my school officials and need to relax. In time, this too, shall pass.

I’ve figured out, thanks to an old English teacher I had in high school, that I could teach overseas. In fact, I could kind of travel the world and teach in places I think would be cool to do so. This could also be part of my contribution and finding out more about the world. I confess, I don’t read newspapers as the news always seems the same. Someone has died and so what? I’m kind of morbid when it comes to the news. Anyhow, I’m planning on spending 2 to 3 more years here in Florida. Get my experience in here, and then find a job elsewhere overseas. I’ve heard some really great stuff. Maybe join the Peace Corps and do it that way. They’d pay…for more education….hmmmm..
