I looked at my pattern and I need 4 yds of the main fabric and 1 3/8 yds of the contrast fabric. I’m not sure how much fabric I will need to make the chemise, but I will look at a pattern when I’m in the store. I’ve also decided when I’m going to the store – Feb. 15th. That’s the next weekend opportunity I’ve got to go to the store.

I have made one Medieval style dress before (for Halloween) and it turned out really well. I plan to use Spring break to make another (in a different type of fabric) so that I can wear it to the Renaissance Festival at the end of the break.
My to-do list for this project:
-Find out how much material I need
-Buy material
-Cut out pieces from pattern
-Sew pieces together
-Add “flourishes” (lace, corset-backing, etc.)

I dressed up, it was really awesome, REALLY hot but nice. My favorite part was the conversation I had with the stocks holder, who put me in prison and nicknamed me “Lizard”...and goofing off with my boyfriend to get put in the stocks in the first place, like “thief, thief!” was very fun.
Also the jousting and glass blowing was cool.
The shaved ice was NICE though… go early or late, when it’s cooler.

Texas Lin starting to get into the holiday spirit
Every year we have the Scarborough Faire in Waxahachie Texas. It is wonderful fun with magic shows, jousting meets , live chess games and artisans galore selling their unique pieces. Add in good food and drink..a bawdy fun day for the whole family.
