This weekend was my sister’s birthday. We went to a beading/pottery place and I designed my first necklace. After designing and stringing the beads, the girls in the shop assembled your piece. Well, I think my design was pretty good though my lengths were off a little. But the girl who put it together didn’t seem to know anything more than the basics and it was not assembled well. I am going to have a friend help me fix it.

I’ve learned how to make jewelry, through self-teaching and my niece. I can make jewelry with beads and different things. My next step is learning how to shape it, as in sterling silver and really take my jewelry making to the next level.

    No beads! 4 years ago

Not bead jewelry. That seems to be all I see at the hobby shops. I want to work with metal jewelry. I have a handful of cubic zirconia stones. I’ve had them for more than a decade. I want to put them in settings. Also, I have a dream of recreating Galadriel’s headdress from the Lord of the Rings movies.

To this end, I have purchased a ColdHeat soldering tool. I also need it to fix my broken sunglasses. Money is hard to come by, so I’ll be working on this in increments. Tool this month, maybe some metal next month, etc.
