Sometimes just listening to a new band once per week is NOT enough. Personally, I need to be in the right mind-set before I can really listen and enjoy the music.

Listening to new music was fairly easy before, but since I’ve got a Napster subscription I’m listening to a new album every day or more, given there are 30 or so new albums out every week, and millions of tracks to find in retrospect there the only trouble is finding out which ones I want to listen to.
So I’m marking this done, and will continue to push comments on specific albums via AllConsuming.net
Tokio Hotel.
I have a thing for non English speaking bands.
DeVotchKa.
I saw DeVotchKa at Bonnaroo this past year, but never really got into them until recently. I’ve been listening nonstop.
Listen to The Enemy Guns.
Some By Sea.
They broke up, but they are still really good.

A random find this week led me to download a couple of albums by “Broken Social Scene” a great group who’s music is mostly grungy indie type of affair, with some nice switches to electro or noise for the odd track and the variety makes a good album that doesn’t just feel like your listening to the same song for an hour.
The track which got me started was “Anthems for a Seventeen Year-Old girl”.

Every once in a while I come across a track that stops me in my tracks, and this was one of them. It took my breath away when I heard it the first time, and still does each time I play it.
So amazing is it, I’ll even post a link to MySpace of all places so you can listen to it, it’s on her page at: http://www.myspace.com/rosepolenzani
Really, it’s just stunning beautiful.
