Time to try this again. 45 has come, and will be gone in May. Let’s get serious. The notes from 9 months ago remind me of the success that is possible with a little discipline. Most of the weight has stayed off, but the subcutaneous layer of fat still hides those abs. Probably need another 10-pound loss along with some more intense ab work.

I had my flight physical today. My blood pressure is now 110 over 59 (compared to 138 over 85 a year ago), my resting pulse is 48, my EKG is “excellent,” and my weight is 15 pounds lighter. Giving up sugar while maintaining a regular exercise routine has worked wonders for me. 7 years ago

I lost approximately 17 pounds in six weeks by giving up sugar and alcohol while continuing to exercise on a regular basis. The challenge lies in maintaining my weight (and actually decreasing my body fat) when I remove these dietary restrictions…today. Moderation in all things is key (how many times have I said that). 7 years ago

I began my Lenten journey weighing approximately 170 pounds. This year, I really wanted to feel the impact of Lent, so I gave up alcohol and sweets (cookies, cakes, candy bars, ice cream, etc). As a result, I’ve lost 15 pounds. 7 years ago
