Spend less time on my virtual life and more time living real life

I was dreaming.
Friday night, really Saturday morning
Brother that lives in complex arrives when he gets off work.
Some drinks are consumed, stories swapped and a lot of laughs.
He leaves at 2:35AM
Around 11.00 AM
TG arrives, lunch is consumed at some point and a beer may have been emptied by each of us. Geocaching plans are made. Always good to see TG. A good local friend and a member of 43Things as well.
TG departs at some point. Most likely 13:30 or so.
My daughter calls me after work.
She is off as of 14:00.
Someone forgot her Birthday on October 22nd.
She was kind of disappointed and I was too
since it was me.
A Dad forgetting his first child’s Birthday is bad…or BAD.
She came by and I took her to lunch.
We had a great visit.
Soon, it was around 17:45.
And I entered the last leg of my weekend.
Drive to girlfriends house, participate in important things on list, hold each other and celebrate life.
Returned home around 20:00 this evening.
Another work week looms.
Thank tradition for the weekends…

communication, there are kinds I am better at…

Face to face is the best by far
The phone works for me as well…

As for the other types, I fail.
In years past I used E Mail a lot, around mid 2006 I backed away.
Keeping in touch with many people using E Mail, typing them all the same news lost its appeal
Chat is something I’ve never used much
and snail mail is out of date…

Have I missed out on some things I could have nurtured?
You bet I have.
Have I lost some people due to this?
Yes, I have had people quit talking to me because they took it personally…

I do talk virtually though.
Here I talk to many and value the friendships I’ve discovered.
And hope to enjoy more friendships with others I would never have met except paths being crossed here.

Blue Oyster Cult is in town with Steppenwolf and a few other groups…$20 at the door…some other drivers want me to go…I saw them a few years ago live…awesome…I was able to watch the guitarists from 10 feet away and marvel at the musicianship…they are an underrated band…many of their hits aren’t even their best songs…We’ll see…

too dangerous to drive yielded beautiful photo opportunities…a miniature world…almost to delicate and wonderful to describe…

The digital photography show and the live music from the 6 expert musicians were like an out of body experience…

He does one yearly…I’m a big fan…

with my daughter and boyfriend into the Colorado mountains…to seek color, solitude and family bonding…

A drive up over Kenosha Pass and through Como Colorado…an old railroad town on the old Denver, South Park and Pacific line…

A well loved back way to travel from the past…an old division point on one of Colorado’s narrow gauge ghost railroads…up over an old railroad grade and over the pass to a vibrant and popular Colorado ski town…exciting and trendy…

Guess which one I much prefer?...

spent having a bite to eat and then going across town to see 3 bands…only one of which was really worth the trip…

A sign of a good band is how they sound live…a band that sounds better live is a rare event…But this band did…Great White…worth doing!...

solo is highly overrated…bwaa haaa haaaaaa…

43things members…this is by no means my way of saying bye…there are good people here and I’m sticking around…

However there are things which can only be obtained by interaction on a personal level…and those things are precious to have and hold…
