no matter what i eat, i can’t gain any weight. guess i gotta take in more protein and start working out…
my ideal goal is to have a medium build and still wear all the size smalls and 30×30 clothes i already have.

Phil Kaplan has a 2 week program to gain muscle mass. I’m going to take some ideas from it. So basically I’ll be working every body part twice a week instead of once. Hopefully this will pack on some muscle.

Protein and water, avoid energy drinks with caffeine
Build power by working on endurance and heavy weight
As always, breathing is important, and clenching as well, to increase effort by 3-5%
It’s also good to fast once a month or so to drop some of the fat, as well as to clean out your system a bit

I hate giving up on all these goals, but priorities change over time and this goal simply is not one of them. I’m going to cancel my YMCA gym membership for financial reasons (40$/month) and just concentrate on jogging and push-ups. I should still be able to lose a decent amount of weight and have a nice body to boot.
You know, the majority of women do not like guys to be “huge”. I figure if I end up with a swimmer’s build somewhere down the line, then that will be enough for me. Of course this is not meant to put down the whole gym thing, nay. I love gyms. I love my gym. Sniff. Some other time, mayhap. I swear that’s a word!

Okay.. I confess I’ve done nothing for this goal this last week. I have a the mental hangup of a early teen boy whose thinks he’s too skinny and watching his peers gain height and size. I’m 40 now. Does logic apply? No!

i find hard not to lose upper body LBM while doing cardio and loosing BF but my strenght training last week was almost non-existant. so next week i will up my strenght training and see.
i need some digestible protein sources. i have again realy hard time eating cheese and eggs. i shouldn’t eat cheese at all! meet sits so hard on my stomach it is out of picture completly. when i was a vegan i was lacking proteins. maybe i should eat whites. tofu is so expensive. and PPs tastes awfull! any ideas?

i moved 1% towards my current goal and that is LBM of 75% but since i lost weight it was due to BF loss. Unfortunatly my experiments with adding animal protein (in order to help gain muscle) ended – due to extensive stomach problems and forced rest days – with muscle loss. I didn’t calculate how much since BF scale is not that much accurate.

And most likely the rest of my life. The most challenging thing about gaining muscle mass is the amount of food I have to eat. I already have a high metabolism so I’m buring a lot of calories. I’m not sure exactly how many much I need, I’m thinking 4000 a day. That’s a lot of eating.
