DoubleNEven though

I wasn’t involved in the card exchange this year (far too much going on in NNville), several people, including Todd Schoonover, were kind enough to surprise me with a card anyway. WOW! Just the pick-me-up I needed! THANK YOU! :) The special 43T magnet is now proudly displayed on the side of my file cabinet in the office. 4 years ago

weallareone

weallareoneI didn't send out all of the cards as I'd intended

and this year I haven’t sent any out yet :-(

But I am marking this goal as done! Yayyyyyy! 4 years ago

TGSince I really

didn’t do very well at this last year (I sent out a few, but didn’t even get cards sent to all of those who sent cards to me) I’m including my 2007 photo along with my 2008 photo to those who are still active.

Better late than never! ;)4 years ago

Flirt Holiday Cards 2008

It’s that time of year again, and if any of you who participate in this fun exchange last year want to do it again, and haven’t yet adopted the goal, you might want to mosey on over HERE and add it to your list now. Then you’ll just need to let me know if your information is all the same, or if there are any changes. I plan on sending out the first set of names later this week.

SMILES,
Flirt 4 years ago

JulieJordanScottI received and didn't send... although I addressed envelopes

purchased cards and had great intentions.

I am going to mark this done, however, since I did share in it. I am purchasing stamps in November for the 2008 sharing, which I will actually participate in 100%.

The stamps were my barrier… and knowing what I lived through during that end of 2007 it probably doesn’t come as a surprise to those who knew me during what was a very bleak period for me. 4 years ago

carpe_diem_for_me*Just received...*

a beautiful card from weallareone ~ thanks so much! I loved the heartfelt note tucked inside this card. It was very thoughtful, and I enjoyed reading the kind, warm Christmas/New Years wishes on a day when I wasn’t expecting it, but definitely needed it!

~ John Lee ~2008 Team - Now Forming

Cheryl started the 2008 team and it might be worth our while to start signing up now. So join the fun, or at least add it to your Christmas Wish List so you will be ready when the season approaches! 4 years ago

~ John Lee ~A question

did you know the 2008 team already formed? 4 years ago

~ John Lee ~Christmas Is Coming

I just got in some mass quantities of Christmas cards that I have in my eBay store and figured, what the heck, someone may want to scoop some up at a decent price. (nothing like promoting Christmas when its the hottest day of year, so far)

I for one, will be doing my Christmas cards WAY early this year. And there is a good chance that some of the cards from TuesdaysAndThursdays will find their way into your mailboxes from me. 4 years ago

weallareoneI did get 40 or so done...

and then decided not to post them until they were all done.

Yesterday I changed my mind and posted the ones I had, so a few of you might find a nice little surprise in your mail box soon.

For the others that won’t receive one yet, I WILL send you a xmas card too, that I am determined.

Why? Why am I determined to send xmas cards in June, July, August, however long it takes?

Because I am undoing an old pattern where I didn’t complete things.

My new pattern is that I complete things, and I’m getting quicker and quicker and completing things that I said I would do. 4 years ago

TGSince I DIDN'T

get the rest of these out before Monday- I guess it’s going to cost me a few cents more to mail them now! ;)5 years ago

Mme DelacroixOkay... I think I'm done...

for the year. I wrote, stamped and mailed 48 christmas/newyear’s cards (plus all my family members and friends), but it’s felt like a marathon getting even that many out!

maybe i’ll start signing cards this summer and stockpiling for the 2008 run. i think i’ll aim for fifty next year, it’s a nice, round number.

: ) see you all then! 5 years ago

Mme Delacroix10 more into the mailbox last weekend

...this is a fun little project to plug away at while i’m sitting in a cafe having some down time + there are some beautiful new Canada Post stamps coming out next month! ; ) 5 years ago

signora oye veyambiguity to the rescue

Boy am I glad that this simply says 2007 holiday card rather than Christmas card exchange. I finally finally finally got these out. Ugh for procrastination. On the up side, I came away with an Australian pen pal from the experience, that was a nice unexpected benefit! 5 years ago

funnyvalentineOkay, so this is my definition of "I've done it!!!"

ahem…I sent out zero cards. I hung up the cards that others sent me, wrote cards to them, put them in a bag, and forgot about them until yesterday…what say ye? Way way way too late to send them out now, eh? 5 years ago

RPsadly

my participation was limited to receiving :(. I didn’t get any holiday cards out to anyone at all, so it was spread evenly around, at any rate.

I still have to write up a holiday letter of sorts, mostly to people on the wedding invitation list, to tell them to save the date. 5 years ago

~ John Lee ~Santa Asana

I am considering Santa Asana as my card for next year – any thoughts ? 5 years ago

~ John Lee ~can't find it

I can’t find my personal information with regard to the card list at all.

I did however find the police report for the stolen Mercedes, also found the police report regarding finding said burnt out Mercedes on the 110 Freeway.

I found business license stuff. As well as a blog post regarding my now defunct wedding. Also found someone who was poking fun at my obsession with the hazelnut yoghurt at the Waitrose in Bath, found my name on a petition to give Virgin America a flight vertificate, found the transcript of my editorials on KPBS (but no downloadable video, yet. Also found myself on a list of scholarship recipients.

Hmmmm.

I am proud of all of them. Well, not really having a car stolen, but, shit, how many people here have owned (not leased) a Mercedes – so yeah, some pride there too.

Overall, I am glad to see my stuff out there on the internet! Dang, I have done some cool shit in my day – here’s to many more ! 5 years ago

~ John Lee ~the phone book

If you have a phone, or own real estate, or pay property tax of any kind your name and address are accessible in most of the world. Own a business – bingo! Have a mortgage – you got it! Apply for a construciton permit to put a dormer on your house, or have a garage sale – yup – your name and information is a matter of public record.

And if you are not a goody goody – perhaps you made an illegal u-turn, or were the recipient of an automobile accident – you got it – your personal information is out there.

The funny thing is that it always has been out there. Before the internet it took a visit to the office of records, or sometime just reading the local police report in the local newspaper.

Information has always been available – the internet just imade it faster to find.

WOW – four people to whom I subscribe have disappeared since this series of posts started a few hours ago. Very interesting. 5 years ago

I’m sad and very sorry that I could not make this work out this year. I received so many beautiful cards and letters that I have treasured. Thanks to all for being such a great bunch of people! And a special thanks to Flirt for making it happen this year! 5 years ago

NielTwo more ...

Thanks Templetone2, for the toast, and the colourful collection of stamps.

Thanks Flirt, you little instigator, and Bella for the card and the winter wonderland pictures. 5 years ago

nonnacookbookerA HUGE thankyou...

.. to dear Flirt and LTisha for your beautiful holidays cards.

They arrived today. So nice to get beautiful cards instead of nasty bills in the letterbox!!!!

Many thanks again :) 5 years ago

Mme DelacroixI bought new stamps today : )

Canada makes beautiful stamps. This one is in celebration of the Chinese Calendar and 2008 is the year of the rat… I think this little fella is dressed as a bridegroom – his fiancee is on the international stamp 5 years ago

ShazamelaMy most humble apologies...

to everyone who didn’t get a card. While I like the stamp I carved to make cards, I didn’t like how the cards themselves turned out. Soooo…I’ve decided to hang on to everyone’s addresses and send random cards throughout the year, then try to improve my cards for the next holiday exchange. 5 years ago

Flirt Going...going...GONE!

I finally got the last of my cards in the mail today. I had all but a few of them done last week, but I had to go in search of a few cards to finish them up. Everyone should get a card from me. I even managed to get some cards sent to 43thingers who weren’t an official part of the exchange. Hopefully they will all arrive at their destinations safe and sound – it’s always fun anticipating people checking their mailboxes and finding something besides bills.

For those of you who missed it in my last post, the picture(s) I included are of the ice storm that was going on while I was being taken to the hospital and were taken by my sister while she was here, out at my family’s farm (about 4 miles from my house).

P.S. If you were part of the exchange and didn’t get a card from me, please let me know, so I can get one sent to you.5 years ago

Mme Delacroixthree more today

one to the robots and two international: so claire and niel across the ocean… get ready to receive something in a handful of weeks! 5 years ago
