I’m in the CO Army National Guard & have yet to meet a Pagan Chaplain. So, my goal is to do what I need to do to fill that need that our Pagan military brothers & sisters have!! Now, all I need is an organization that is accepted by the military to support me & educate me.
How to be certified as pagan clergy
How I did it: I started a 12-step group for pagans who had drug/alcohol problems, based loosely on AA's format. It was under the auspices of the local CUUPs group. It went on for three years, and was successful. The leaders of the CUUPs group decided to become organized, did all the paperwork, and ordained a few of us at a neat little ritual. I'm now a card-carrying legal pagan minister. I was really surprised because this was not my goal, but a perk.
This was very helpful to me because now I can hear everything that someone tells me in a 5th step and don't have to worry about being subpoenaed to testify (I knew one gentleman who spent 4 months in jail because he wouldn't testify on a sponsee's admissions). So I do have clergy privilege that serves me well.
(The 5th step is admitting certain things from the past, to look for patterns for stopping harmful behaviors.)
So I would recommend this if you are in a 'confessional' situation, or would simply like to marry folks.
Lessons & tips: I have a friend who is taking classes to become clergy, and that seems to be working out well. I know there are clergy classes for pagans, heathens, etc. of all sorts, a little research on the internet should help out.

Well, to be very honest… this goal has had to take a back seat due to being down for the past year from the cancer treatments and now coming back up from that point and trying to handle all the things that radiation damaged along the way. Its been a rough year, but I am still here and still cancer free. I have hit my one year mark… and regardless to whether or not I have my pagan clergy certificate… I am alive. Right now, that is the most important thing.
I will start working on this, just as soon as I get a handle on the Medical Transcription Course that I’m also working on. That has me going in circles and trying very hard to work through it.
Blessings…
I’m in my first year of study at Rowan Tree Ministries http://www.rowantreecoven.com/, and after the fourth year I’ll be a “certified” Pagan Priestess, which I’ve dreamed of for years. It’s a wonderful group, and I really appreciate this chance to learn, improve myself, and hopefully become a capable leader.
I would like to know what steps that I need to do to become a clergy. I have been a practioner for about 20yrs. and have counseled others within and out of groups that i have participated. I have my own group and would like to be a certified, but just not too sure how. Unfortunately was not able to get help from other pagan clergy members in my community. I have taught others the basics for at least 10yrs and helped them discover their own paths. I hope someone can help me with this. Thanks, lms

study, and practice will make you a elder. love your brothers & sisters. listen to them, help them, make them your family. go the extra step. plan and arrange Sabbats. bring food. welcome new people. do it every time.
Blessed be
Just Trust Me… After being a Pagan for 17 years and an active pagan celgymember for the last 10. It changes your life to get back to your heritical roots. Then find out who you really are and who you were suposed to be.
This is definitely a long-term goal, because I don’t have the knowledge or maturity I’d need to do this and won’t for quite a while. Still, I think I’ve been doomed from birth to be clergy… I just started out in the wrong religion. (I used to think I wanted to be a missionary Bible translator.)
