Ran my first competetive race (5k) in 2 decades last week and averaged 10 minute miles. There is much work to be done!

The fastest I’ve ever run a mile was 6 min 13 sec and that was 7 years ago. I’ve become more of a long distance type since, but I’d really like to revisit that past- and kick it’s ass!
as of today my official mile time is 07:30. i got work to do.
I was just doing interval sprints to gain strength. But my “trianing” mile time improved by 40 seconds from yesterday. For sure, i have to do a time trial tomorrow.
Ran a 4:30 in high school.. and 1:55 half.. could help people if they need some ideas on training etc… Have coached high school and middle school girls track. Definitely think running should be more of a healthy lifestyle then an unhealthy stress.
I ran a 6:50 at the Freedom Mile race in Baton Rouge on the 4th of July. While I’m currently focusing on gaining distance (training for my 1st marathon), I’m hoping to finish with a sub 6 next summer at the same race!
I dont know if i am the SLOWEST runner in the world or what….I can barely run a mile let alone in six minutes!! I think i can barely run one in ten minutes….I did just start running ( trying to join the military) and i am trying to not get discouraged…I am setting my mind to this and IT WILL BE DONE ;)
Worth doing!
I didn’t know if this was possible…losing over 120lbs had enabled me to do things I could never have accomplished before! I feel great…
Ha ha Did a time trial a few months ago ran a mile in about 8½ minutes. Am i deluding myself to take 2½ minutes of my time -150 seconds.
Have a race in 5 weeks time my first proper mile race so know sub 8 minutes is on but i want more than that
