Ran a mile in band. Got a 10:30, which is not bad at this point. Beat my previous times by 2 minutes.

I researched ways to improve my mile time. My fastest time is 7:56, but I haven’t been practicing lately, so it is around 12 minutes. My goal is to reach 6 minutes by the end of 2010.
This week, I will run 10 minutes every day with a 2 minute cooldown.
Next week, I will run 20 minutes a day with a 4 minute cooldown.
Currently I’m sitting at an 8 min mile (maybe a bit less) and I’m working on getting down to a 6 min mile. I can do a 6 min mile pace for 1 minute.

This is useful goal to train to. I will give it a go and see how I go. If i can even get close I will be happy. I am not too worried about the exact time.
I’ve been really good about jogging every day this week. I haven’t timed myself in a while but I feel like I’m getting better.

Ran my first competetive race (5k) in 2 decades last week and averaged 10 minute miles. There is much work to be done!
The fastest I’ve ever run a mile was 6 min 13 sec and that was 7 years ago. I’ve become more of a long distance type since, but I’d really like to revisit that past- and kick it’s ass!
