One thing to remember; in an emergency stop keep your hands on the brakes, stops you from going flying off the ped if someone behind you can’t brake in time. 3 years ago
Completed today, learnt all things necessary and passed! Did a drive for 2 hours one hour instructor leading, one hour me in the lead.
First learnt everything on the bike and the initial checks you need to take: BOLT: Brakes, Oil, Lights, Tyres. Got told to use of the helmet and gloves always! Jeans are a minimum as plastic material heats up easily and will burn if you come of, then it will set you a blaze.
Had to go pass obstacles in the initial training, then out on the road had to drive past parked cars by doing the lifesaver look right to get closer to the centre of the road then left again to line up with the middle of the lane. Also learnt how to turn left and right on the road mirrors, indicators, final lifesaver check .When your setting of you need to look both ways behind you before you set off; did this when the traffic light was amber.
What ever direction you go you should always do a lifesaver check to make sure there are no dangers ect..
Learnt how to do emergency stopping hopefully will never need to do it, 70 on front brakes 30 on back. The back was a drum brake which had a slower reaction time but the front disc brake was raipid! If in a skid I learnt to release pressure of the skidding tyre.
Gonna revise some more so the training stays fresh!
