Every winter we seem to get a barrage full of native ducks and other birds that love this area to raise their offspring but in particular two of them love our front yard.
So each and everyday they come from wherever they sleep for the night and spend the day on the front lawn under one of our trees. They know a good thing when they’ve got it you see as we clean their bowls with fresh water everyday, feed them whenever they’re standing at the door quacking for food and generally look after whatever they need but lately its caused quite a bit of jealously.
It seems every other duck has cottoned onto this and its previously turned into an all out war right in our front yard! Sometimes it can get a bit out of hand so you have to go outside to break it up or sometimes its just so hilarious that you sit there and just watch them chase each other around and around the tree for a while. I just wish I had a video camera for these times, they’re priceless! ;D
Anyway, its now been 3 years that we’ve had the same two in our front yard and six months this year that they’ve been back for their breeding season but now its unfortunately time for them to go until next winter comes. I’ll miss them, its great to have them around.
So until next winter its now time to bring in their water and feeding bowls and wait again until I hear their little quacks saying “C’mon, we’re here again!.. ;)

Dancing bears
Ok, so i thought i would get started on this straight away.
I was looking over the internet for a charity to support and i came across the WSPA, in particular the work they are doing for the dancing bears in india. I was reading about it and it had me in tears. Its so horrible what these bears go through.
So i donated £40, i wish a could afford more but i cant right now, and i wana spread awareness of the pain these bears are going through.
I’ll warn you now the link i’ve put in shows some pretty graphic photos and its quite disturbing reading.

I think this is a great goal. I love all animals. I currently sponser an ‘old dogs home’ through dogs trust. They never put a healthy dog down, so all the old or ill dogs, that cant be re-homed go to a sort of retirement home for dogs.
I also sponser a pony from the charity Redwings. They rescue horses, ponies and donkeys from all over the U.K. They do some really great work.
I want to do more though, support more animal charities and raise awareness of them.
The photo is the pony that i sponser, Cute isnt he?!

One day I’m going to adopt an animal through WWF. At the moment its not doable as my pension doesn’t go very far but its such a worthy and wonderful thing to do for a beautiful little creature like this that cant find his own way in life either due to his habitat or predators.
I found this little guy on the WWF website who is an endangered species and if I could adopt him I would. His name is Hubert..
