Also you have to practice your short game and putting like crazy, believe it or not this is the biggest difference between amateurs and pros.

This is a lofty goal, and very worthwhile 10 months ago

This is one of the hardest things to do, If you can shoot anything below 85, you should be able to shoot in the 70’s, The trick is to get out of your own way. Ive broken 80 maybe 12 times in my 14 year golfing career. Those times were always when i was not expecting anything great on the way to the course, just to have fun that day, or to continue something i learned on the range that i felt would help me. The main thing to do is to try not to notice when you get in the “zone” just enjoy every hole and think One thought about what you are trying to do with the shot in front of you. You cannot think of the great Birdie you just made on the last hole (or the one you just missed) for that matter. Just know that you have the skills to pull off any shot, Tell yourself that you have done this before, calculate every thing as best you can, hit the shot. One at a time.

this goal is more like.... on hold 12 months ago

I have not given up on golf..I love golf! It is just too expensive right now to get good. Ill pick this goal back up when I am able to invest more money and time

Shoot consistently in the high 80's would like to get it down in the 70's 16 months ago

Doesn’t matter if your on in two, when you can’t putt.

I shot a 81 2 weeks ago then i got a couple of lessons and right now id be happy to keep it on the course, okay it isnt that bad but it feels like it. I mean arent lessons supose to help you

It's only a little difference... 3 years ago

between a 71 and a 81 – at least for me. Two or three birdie putts that are short off target and a few par-savers that are to short/long and turns into bogeys. The unlucky bounce into the rough/wood/water.. it’s stuff like that which sums to a score of 81. I think it is not about the perfect day or luck – its all about the best “worst-shots”.

Best score so far 88. Its all about concentration for 18 holes. Easier said than done!

I love to golf and have been golfing for the last 6 years. I was even on my high school golf team, but now I suck! I haven’t golfed consistently in so long. I’d love to go back to golfing regularly and actually hit decent shots
