gulliver is wasting time
Beautiful dance and some day I will commit to learning its intricacies. I’ve had a few lessons, but for now salsa is my dance.
How I did it: I signed up and showed up to classes. I pretty much gather by the 3rd month that for whatever reason right now Tango is not something I want to persue. Not sure what it was. I had gotten to a point where I could dance the basic steps, so there was a lot of progress just could not get 100% committed to it right now. I am glad I tried it though. It has helped me in my other dance.
Lessons & tips: I think that like anything else you have to commit to give it a good try. For me 3 months was plenty to let me know it was not doing it for me. I think everyone knows how long a "good try" takes. Learning how to dance costs money, costs time, energy and patience but it is 100% worth it. I already know how to dance another dance well, so I know the deal.
Resources: I did a search in the Internet on Tango classes in Los Angeles and other neighboring cities to get an idea of where to go, times/days and costs. I chose: http://www.apurotango.com/info2.html
I also got some idea of Tango styles in the Internet and rented movies through Netflix to get me motivated. You really have to get into the dance to understand it.
Good luck!!!

I have a friend that is taking classes and loving it. I can’t wait to see her dance, but I think I’m going to hold off on getting involved myself. Tango is so beautiful, but I’m already taking bellydance 3 nights a week before rehearsals or performances, and adding more would be a lot considering my school and work committments right now.
I’ve always wanted to learn to tango and this time the challenge has reached my doorstep; a dance school has just opened opposite my house. Too difficult to ignore…
I can say I’ve learned how to tango, but to say that I’m good at it yet, lacking any consistent practice, that’s another story.
Is there anyone in Broward that knows where I can learn to dance tango?
the recreational course flyer thingy arrived at the door today… seems there’s a one evening tango class. I could give it a try…
Im living in Buenos Aires so i can get very good tango classes for a reasonable price.
I mudt use this great opportunity!
Well I can’t really dance it I just learned the bases, but, yes, tango IS insanely cool !!
