Read The Communist Manifesto

God. I haven’t read it. I got all distracted and read bloody Harry Potter, again. :/

I’m moving away on the 20th of Sept, so I have to read it by then.

I’m going to read it for at least 30mins today!

Eeeek. I haven’t been reading it, at all.

However, I’m going on holiday now, for a week and I shall read it then. I need to finish it so I can give it back to my friend.

Josephine lent me a copy and I’m in the process of reading it. Well, I looked over 2 pages yesterday when I was really hung over. But! I have a copy and I want to get it back to her within the next week.

That should be fine because it is short and I plan on reading every day.

I have also wanted to read it because if I am going to ever be able to talk intelligently about marxism or communism I need to be informed. Hopefully, this reading the manifesto will do this. Also, I believe it’s a very important academic work which has had a huge impact on the world.

Plus, I just wanna say I’ve read it. :)

I’ve always thought of myself as a communist but truth be told, I’ve never read the manifesto. I’ve read up a lot of Karl Marx and really support his ideals, so I think I’ve been cheating my own ideals for not reading this earlier.

This is just a great idea. Albeit the society shoudl be somewhat open and free. That is my ideal society. A society in which equality and freedom exist in unity. Thats why Social Democracy is probably the best political theory, because it tries to even out the playign field.

Basically strengthened what I already knew. I hate communism. All that equality leaves notihng to aspire to. You can’t have ambition!!! Oh how I would hate it!

I’m not a communist. I just think if you’re going to criticise something you should know a lot about it first! Ignornace is no excuse.
I like reading political theories/manifestos. Indeed I plan to write my own, obviously this will accompany my goal of taking over the world. :D

enlightening. i also read about marx’s early ‘alienation theory’ & that was what i found most interesting!

Ok, so technically i’ve just done this, I just finished a unit on modern theories of the state and read this and studied a bit of Marxism but I need to re-read it in my own time again, when i’m not getting assessed for it. I also really need to take up another unit like this with a better lecturer & a better structure so I can fully comprehend all the info/debates/arguments/interpretations surrounding & involving these theories, especially Marxism. Ah, dropping my commerce degree for politics is wayyyy the best decision i’ve ever made, it makes some of my yucky law units bareable!
