A high note..?

Well, that depends. All in all, here was how my 2007 ended.
- Spent a day at the spa with L
- Went shopping with L to get a farewell present for Z (end up with a brown Mont Blanc purse, the price was almost too absurd)
- On Jan 1st, recovered from all the aches and pains post-spa experience
- Attended the handover ceremony between old boss and new boss
- Attended Z’s farewell dinner and survived an entire dinner using chopsticks
- Went out with BSG and had a nice time despite the manic shopping crowd

I operated on sheer adrenaline yesterday. Meetings after meetings and a few things jumping out at me all at once.
I did, however, encounter someone who bowled me over almost completely. We had an appointment to discuss my saving plan and insurance needs. But somehow, we end up talking about some stuff which had us both laughing out loud. Before we both knew what happened, we swapped personal email addresses promising to exchange some music later. I felt compelled to stretch him beyond his current musical deit consisting of 80s and 90s chart-topping oldies! And yeah, he’s very cute.. :)
In the evening, I was supposed to attend a cocktail party cum theater. It’s hosted by our medical insurer and I needed to represent my company to receive some plaque or other. What I didn’t realise was that how late I was going to be, or that my boss was there much earlier thinking I’d be there on time! He kinda nagged me about it later, but toned down when I told him I was conducting an interview before I dashed out of the office.
The theater show was brilliant and side-splitting funny. Later on, my boss treated me and my two colleagues at La Bodega (a swanky place in Bangsar, the capital of nocturnal creatures after hours) and we had a nice supper to end the night. It was fun just talking and drinking, sharing war/work stories, having a good laugh. Definitely, one of the more memorable evenings I’ve had to date.

A high indeed

I didn’t win the award, but my colleague did. So either way, our company won and got some positive publicity out of this.
I do believe that E is the better contender, despite my admitting I didn’t need to win this. I’m just glad I even made it to the finals. Not a shabby feat either.
I doubt I’d want to participate in such a program again though, I don’t think I can deal with that kind of exposure.
