write at least one short story every week

Stories have a life of their own. What I started to write today took off in a direction that I never had anticipated. That’s fine. When I write, I think I am on a bus. I suppose I summed up the character one way, but when they got to telling their story, it came out in a way I didn’t expect.

I think I am a quarter of the way though the story. I hope to be editing by Friday.

The majority of the writing that I do in my life is non-fiction. I have three classes that require a large amount of non-fiction writing. For a peculiar reason I now want to write fiction when I have to write non-fiction. This is likely do to need to procrastinate.

Tonight I am working on a story tentatively titled, Bill was here.

Motivation. I was up until 2:00 AM decompressing from work. During this time, I made dinner, did not clean my apartment or dishes, but I did play a puzzle game for 4 hours.

I need to be a media creator, not just a consumer. There is no reason to play a video game when I could be getting things done.

I wrote four pages of something new yesterday. A bigger idea than last week’s story. I actually wrote a sequence, and then re-arranged it. Going out today and then I’ll add to it later.

I think if you talk about what you’re working on, it ceases to be just yours (for however long you need to work on it) and then becomes harder to finish (?)

And so, that’s all I’m saying about that one!

My first draft completed at 16.48 GMT, took me 4 hours.

I love having new stuff to work with.

I feel like I’m back!

Starting tomorrow.

Because I said so.

I have written over two dozen 55 word length stories for the Santa Barbara News Press contest in a single night.

I have written a short story once a week for a creative writing class.

If I can’t do this, I certainly can’t consider myself a short fiction writer.

Still working through the road-trip idea. Could/will be the best thing I’ve done in a while.

Well, the thing I wrote for the prompt that I found will probably end up being used for parts in other things. It’s there, and workable and I still got it, as they say.
