get a camper

I really want a camper to use for just my family and me!!!!

We want to have a camper – fully stocked with supplies and bedding so we can get up and go on a whim. Just add a destination, clothes and food. I want our kids to have lots of happy memories of their childhood. Camping, smores, flying kites etc.

I like “roughing it” too and don’t want to stop doing that but I think it would be fun to have a camper!

Found a nice van north of Auckalnd – now I just hope they can keep hold of it until the weekend. Although I think it will probably have gone by then. Argh, where did my optimism go? Replaced by my native pragmatism, or disturbing increase in cynicism?

Part II is being implemented – get the 4×4 gearbox fixed. And its costing a pretty penny to get a Rav4 5th gear fitted. Part I was to get a scooter (check). Part III is to sell the 4×4 and get a camper van. I’m headed up to Auckland on November 4th to do this – better choice and prices up there. Will hopefully drive one back down to New Plymouth (4.5 hour drive) on Sunday night.

Taa daaaaaaa: Scooter for work commute. Camper van for weekend missions of hiking / surfing / ski-ing etc.

It’s a plan anyway.
