I was in line behind someone at the library. It was going to be a bitter cold weekend, so everyone was stocking up on movies to watch. This guy had apparently racked up $17 worth of late fees, and he only had a $10 bill on him. The librarian said he had to have his balance $5 or less before he could check out anything else. He was just about to leave, but I put $2 down on the counter. He apparently knew where I worked, and said he’d pay me back, but that was a few weeks ago, and I haven’t seen him, so I’m counting this (I’d feel guilty counting it if he actually came and paid me back).

Does anonymous mean that the person can’t know at all who did it or just that they can’t know specifically who did it? To put it more clearly – does it count if I do something for a stranger and they see that I did it. They’d know I did it but wouldn’t know who I am. Or does it not count if they see that it was me? I’ll have to decide that.
I just had to add that “anonymous” in there. I do so many things, but they’re not usually anonymous. When I go Christmas shopping, I’m going to look for one of those trees with the wish lists for a needy child, and I’ll do one or two of them. That’ll be my start. I just can’t think of anything else right now.
