Anthony SantoroStill working!
I created a pretty sweet rig in Maya that allowed me to render stereo paired images. I wound up doing a few of these at Curious Pictures where I worked for a while.
Little Spirit – NBC Christmas Special
and another internal job, a pitch for Disney.
Tried to convert a number of other jobs to stereo 3D over the past few years, but it’s like one needs to create a video or animation in 3D from the ground up. There are so many different camera choices, and direction that come on in the 3D process. Changing shot’s lengths, frameing, lens’....on more than most it became a chalenge more than I could handle on my own while pulling 60-80 work weeks. There was simply no time.
So!!
I turned to working with real world cameras and start producing my own S3D content. See if my math and numbers worked out in the real world also.
Started with the canon cameras and build a CHDK/SDM.
Once that was all worked out, expanded and learned a little bit about motion control, and built a small dolly robot, and intervelometer. That worked out pretty well.
Now I am off to London to meet up with my friend, and while I am working, I’m hoping that we will have this winter to build a new (stronger and better) stereo dolly robot, just in time for spring and summer. We can then take our contraption out on our motorcycles and create some cool S3D timelapse and maybe video’s of the UK.
Here goes to summer 2012! 16 months ago
