since my last entry i have lost 4 pounds! It feels so good to get on the scales and see the pounds slowly come off. I’ve been cutting back on my portions and added pilates to my weekly routine. 175… here i come!
I’ve been battling with my weight for the past 7 years after i lost my daughter. It took some time to heal, but now i’m ready to get the weight off. I guess i was holding on to the weight in a sense to keep holding on to her (gained 50 lbs. in my pregnancy). I think i’m ready to move on. Any help and support would be greatly appreciated. Good luck to everyone and I hope you reach your goals.
I have the next two weeks off from work. I plan to walk at least twice a day after meals. When I get back to work, I will change my eating habits: eat my breakfast (5:30), have a hardboiled egg 7:30), a piece of fruit or a small salad (10:00 “lunch time”), more fruit/veg (2ish), supper (5:00) and that’s it. No other munchies. I need to keep my consumption way down. Plus when I return to work, I still want to walk right after school and hopefully soon after supper. The next two weeks, I plan to walk to most of the places I want to go, library, pharmacy, market. It will take a bit, because nothing is particularly close. However . . . I have actually put on 15 pounds since I wrote this goal, for a total of 220 lbs. Work stresses me (new position, new grade level, old bullshit politics), I have teenage daughters (nuff said), and my husband is going through his first year of teaching (again, nuff said). I need to get a handle on my weight before I totally drown in lard.
I went to the water aerobics class. I was pleasantly surprised to realize I could do all of the exercises fairly compentently. Now, however, I am sore. But it’s a good sore ;)
When I received the reciept in the mail, I was pleasantly surprised to find the class had been changed to MWF. I suited up, grabbed my towel and my water, even made sure I could secure my important stuff. Got to the pool about 20 minutes early. Shazaam! The computer was fried, the class is truly on TTh. Now what is the excuse of the clerk that told my husband this morning that class would take place, despite Halloween? Grrr!
I will don my fat lady swim suit (no skirt, but lots of spandex and flowers). I will head down to the pool, wrap myself firmly in my towel so nobody will notice how heavy I am and slip into the pool, preferably without causing a tidal wave. ;) Actually I am looking forward to the class. I haven’t had something just for me since the kids were born (the eldest being 16). All of my other activities are either work related or school related or family related. Should be cool to see what happens, and it’s easy on the knees.
That starts a week from today. Although I am 40, I look much older in a swim suit. Oh well, can’t loose without exercise. I know, I’ve half-assed tried.
Monday I sign up for a water aerobics class. I am also looking for a walking buddy at work – teachers seem to come in two sizes: mini-kid and gargantuan. Guess which one I am ;-)
I want to lose weight. I am 5’4” tall and I weigh almost as much as my 6’5” father, not to mention the fact I outweigh my 6’1” husband. Now that I “overweigh” almost as much as my 16 year old daughter, it is probably time to lose the monkey on my back – my waist- my neck – my legs – my boobs.
I usually get in my own way, go on a bender, snarf whatever I can lay my hands on, swear I will start “tomorrow”. I am ready to start now – I am a teacher and we just got out for the summer. I would like to have different habits to go with the different job (I am changing grade levels). I have been fat for most of the last 25 years – morbidly obese for the last 10. But I have such a pretty face. ;-)
