I’m sharing the art studio space I rented to start my short film project and now there’s no room for any film work. I’m not giving up on it though because right now I’m making great progress on a project that I abandoned before starting the short film. You never know.

How I did it: I plan on doing it again in the future, but better next time -- especially since now I know how to properly use MovieMaker.Use the buddy system -- never try to attempt this alone. You will find it difficult if not impossible to get certain shots you may want.1) Camera or camcorder (one you can connect directly to your computer works best) - some of these don't come with their own lighting, so you might want to keep that in mind when fi… Read how I did it…
How I did it: Honestly, I just got a few friends together, wrote a concept, grabbed a camcorder, and started shooting. It's more important to produce volume, practice, and improve on your own than it is to sit around wishing you knew how.Sometimes a lack of training forces innovation (look at Evil Dead or El Mariachi), and I produced things as a 14 year old with no knowledge of f/stops or film stocks that still amaze me now. How I did it: i got a mini DV camera, shot a few scenes and edited the footage in iMovie, that's pretty much it- but i have to keep writing to meet this stupid 150 character minimum Read how I did it…

I have some ideas, but I have not written them down yet.
My what I call ‘companion’ but what other people would probably consider a boyfriend, is really into films and wants to be a director so he’s inspired me to follow suit. I just came up with an idea in five mins. Two locations, woods and beach and using me and him as the cast. I’m really into aesthetics so the most important thing for me is that it will look boootiful and I’ll have to find some perfect music to go with it. Going to film in the woods tomorrow.

inner guru seeks silliness & play
There is a little voice that every once in a while softly nudges me ” make a film”. I’ve never done it, have no idea where I’d start, or even what the subject matter might be.
How short is short? What makes a film, a film. I mean a ‘real’ film. Does a 15 minute little movie taken with my digital camera qualify??? Hmmmmm. For now, yes. I’d be good with that.
Okay. Well it finally made it on my list. Thanks to ‘28 days’.

I’m completely in love with the film-making process. From directing, to acting, to post production and editing, I find it all a blast and rush to be a part of.
So one day, be it professional or amateur, I want to try making my own short film. Either write, star, direct, or edit, I just want to try to be involved in an independent project like that in anyway possible. I’m sure I would love it, especially if I made it with friends.
Two of my friends and I are going to set out to make a short film. We’re working on the screenplay right now, but we’re already in the business of securing locations. I really hope that we get a lot out of the experience!
