I’d like to think that I haven’t done any work on this goal because we’ve been moving over the passed several months, but we’ve been in our new house now almost a month. That excuse is over.
Perhaps this goal is so tricky because it’s kind of vague… Maybe I should organize me and my son’s art supplies so they are more out and available. I’ll try to have us do some collaging today in our day together.

I really want to get crafty or paint again, but I am moving soon so there is a lot to be done that doesn’t involve making a bigger mess than the house already is right now. I think that I will focus my creative energies these next few weeks into cooking new healthy meals that excite my family’s tastebuds. I picked up some cookbooks at the library and am ready to mix it up in the kitchen.

I was watching Martha Stewart and she had a guest on that was Fab! He did these centerpeices with Hydranga flowers round vases and water. I thought they were so pretty, and really inexpensive to do for my sisters graduation party since we have a ton of those flowers in my back yard. I did them yesterday, and brought them to the resturant today, and they were a huge hit! I found out I really liked working with flowers.

I am an inventor by nature and occupation. I believe we all are, to some extent or another. I beleive we are all called to create, and when we stifle our own creativity we stifle our self growth and retard our happiness. If someone wants to be more creative, the first thing to do is to GET RID OF THE TV!- TV takes away our ability to really see and appreciate the things around us - and the things (and people) around us often form the starting points for the creative process. (If I can’t “see” a problem, how am I going to create a solution?) The image is one of my “creations”—the Kandle Heeter tm Candle Holder.

Yep, I discovered knitting as my way of finding something creative to do in my life. Although I am just a beginner knitter (having now knitted 3 scarfs), I have found it is a good creativity-generating activity – there are so many yarns to choose from, and playing with different patterns is very possible, even for a beginner (there are lots of easy patterns to do).
I have particularly found it rewarding – I like that once I finish knitting a piece I have a ‘completed project’.
I don’t see this as the end of my goal to do something creative, but it is certainly a good start.

One of my goals is to be happier, and I’m thinking that being more creative, doing creative things, will fit in with that. I would love to find people in my area who would like to get together to fingerpaint, or paint, or sculpt in clay, or bead, or do anything creative together. That would be terrific, and would help with two of my goals.
