adopt internationally

Its tough to know whats the best option. Obviously for that child that you bring into your home – its a good thing, but its not a great thing in regards to solving a countries problems. I have wanted to do this since I was a child myself, but I also wonder if the money I spent on adopting 1 child could be more impacting on a group of children in an orphange thats been run well with considerable focus on the long term options for them. Should I focus on both – is that too much to ask of myself? I think sometime into next year we will take a further step forward in this and contact local groups that deal with intercountry adoption.

... are from Korea and India … one Korean and two Indian, all wonderful and spirited and lively and adorable! Of course, as with all little boys, I wish I could tap all that energy they have … man, they wear me out all the time! Adopting internationally was a great experience … and something I will cherish forever. I learned so much by traveling to bring them home and now have some of their rich cultural heritage to share with them as they get older.
