In the past five or so days, I’ve written a fair amount of a song, and come up with basic melodies and chords for the verse, pre-chorus, and chorus. Too bad the chorus sounds almost exactly like a song I had just heard hours earlier. I had a feeling something like that was happening, but it sounded good so I kept it. I need to compare them closely and decide if there needs to be a change. But it’s a really good melody.
But yeah, this one is coming right along, almost at the pace I set about a year ago. It’s pretty exciting. The piano part has a lot of kinks to work out. In fact, the piano part is mostly made of kinks. It’s nice to actually feel inspired to write by a band (from which I stole the melody, sorry), namely We The Living, and I’ll be seeing them live tomorrow, so maybe I’ll be even more inspired after that. I also need to remember to sing every day so my vocal chords get some exercise. I don’t think many people have that problem, but I just don’t want anyone to hear me…
