gotta try harder  — 3 days ago

New dr wants me to take a cholesterol lowering drug that starts with a Z. I picked it up today.
He said my numbers are all bad and I will get it checked again in 3 mos.
He agreed that last dr did not have me on the right meds.

Sad news  — 4 days ago

High cholesterol is in my genes.

Last year, at 18, my cholesterol was 213.
This year, at 19, my latest test said my cholesterol had reached a whopping 300! The doctor said this is most likely inaccurate, since I haven’t been eating 10 big macs a day, and I am going back in a month to retest.

But either way, I am now consciously tackling my cholesterol. My goal is at least 190.

I am walking for 2 hours, 5 days a week. During the weekend I am still active with friends, but don’t set goals. I am trying the cheerios challenge, eating cheerios for breakfast and later in the day. I have cut out red meat almost entirely (My family went to texas de brazil a week ago, so I caved a little then, and I accidentally had ground beef in what I thought was vegetarian pasta at a family get-together, but other than that I’m clean), and started a multivitamin.

Hopefully these measures will help. We’ll see next month.

    notes  — 3 weeks ago

since I have not been very good on this,. I thought daily notes would help.
    taking fish oil
    taking vitamins.
walking or something for 30 mins
    pilates( makes.
since it is morning, I will make notes later on today

eat right, lower my cholesterol  — 4 weeks ago

have not been trying on this at all.
I need to walk, eat right and take my fish oil. I forget all about this with trying to work, having the kids home with me… often not getting a good sleep…
I guess today I can make a sign for all the stuff I need to remember for ME.
I do so much but the days fly by!

My Doc  — 1 month ago

My doctor said my numbers were not bad enough to worry about. She’s more concerned that I put on some pounds (yeah right!). She said she’d be worried if I was otherwise unhealthy, but all other lab results say everything is A-OK. I guess I need to quit eating all my boyfriends buttery sweets. :)

    I'm SCARED.  — 2 months ago

I don’t want to eventually get some illness that cannot be cured. Some type of cancer, diabetes? I need to get rid of this fast.. and now! It’s hard not to eat forbidden foods.

I'm just bored and tired with myself  — 2 months ago

I’ve been fighting borderline for 2 years now and am sick of getting bigger and bigger with no energy. My job is stressful, I’m depressed about everything and am not myself! I don’t know what this is yet, but I hope it helps get me pumped up about taking better care of myself.

My bad cholesterol was 147 when I got my lab reults last week. I think my overall cholesterol was 210. The numbers should be below 100 & 200. I’m not sure what’s normal in terms of the rate of lowering one’s cholesterol. I guess 137 bad by my next doctor’s visit (August or so) shows that I am moving in the right direction?

new choices  — 2 months ago

    I am changing my Dr!
I went to my Gynecologist and told her how things have been going with my treatment. ( and what the dr said last week that made me feel really weird)
I am changing to another dr today.
He made fun of me and embarrassed me.
It is time to walk away!
