I’ve stocked up on avocados, porridge, oat-milk, and protein powder. I’m happy with my new eating regime; I had hardly any chocolate today, and lots of protein and fruit & veg. Long may this last!

I’ve started taking a fish-oil supplement again. I like “Eskimo Brainsharp” – cheesy name, but it’s the best one out there. I used to be so health-conscious; I can’t believe that I’ve let my cholesterol get out of control. My main problem is that I’m addicted to sugary junk-food – crisps and chocolate, mostly. I’m trying to cut down, but I find myself going hungry (this is what Olanzapine will do to you!). I’m going to try eating a bowl of porridge every day. I used to eat this stuff religiously – I guess I’m in the minority who actually likes the taste of it! More nuts too – this shouldn’t be too difficult. And avocados – yum!

Ed bought a snazzy new smartphone. No more archaic, paper-based task mgt
I haven’t had a full physical since 2005, so I think I’m due. I think I haven’t had my Cholesterol checked since 06, so I’m due for that, too. When I first found out I had high cholesterol, I changed my eating habits drastically. But when that didn’t help 2 months later, I sort of fell off the wagon.
I still try to make healthy choices, though. I’ve replaced almost all of my beer with red wine. I eat fruit and whole grains every day. I almost never eat fried food or fast food. And I run 3 or 4 times a week.
But…
I still eat out. Dinners can still be a little heavy (especially when my girlfriend’s mother is in a serious cooking mood). I don’t take any cholesterol medication or supplements, and I haven’t had it tested in about 3 years. And I’ve put on about 10-20 pounds in that time.
One of the tasks associate with my clean sweep program is to get a physical. I’ll have to schedule that soon.

Triclycerides 173 Goal > 130
LDL 177 Goal > 150
HDL 36 Goal < 45
Total 248
Starting Today things are a changing.
Action plan to follow in the next post.
Including Diet, Ex. and life choices
Still coming down, but my LDL is still somewhat high. My numbers are as follows:
Total 194 (Normal <200)
LDL 128 (Normal <100)
HDL 54 (Normal 50-60)
Triclycerides 60 (Normal <150)
Fasting blood glucose was 88.
I can keep trying to lose weight, but otherwise I think that LDL number might be caused by heredity. I will keep working on weight loss, though.
hollymoose78 is SO glad for the upcoming weekend.
I thought about calling my doctor to see if I could get a bloodwork order prior to my appointment, but if I’m doing all the right things (eating better, exercising, etc) perhaps I can just trust that this is continuing to decrease? She seemed happy with the number last time. I think I’ll just wait until she orders another test.
So, I think I’ll drop this from my list since it’s not really something I can monitor too often.
Catachrest is feeling groovy
I’ve done it before, will do it again. It goes hand in hand with my need to keep my thyroid under control, exercise, and lose some more weight. I just need to start giving it the attention it needs. I’m too young to be worrying about this stuff!
I haven’t been tested super recently but once I do I’ll post my numbers and start tracking them properly. :)
Cheers – Merry Christmas!
cathyisme everything is not about you.
my physician says it wont go down unless i drop the accutane.
my dermatologist says to continue. it doesnt matter. (what.)
i am going to follow my dermatologist.
ill just monitor it every month. and if i gonna have a heart attack, ill send you an IM.
i cant wait to end this so full of risk drug.
My overall was up to 228 but my bad was down to 139/140. Not good at all. I’m on a medication so it should be much lower next check but what I really want is to have a life where the medication is unnecessary.
