I’m blaming it on the weather, even though I know it’s not the weather’s fault. I feel icky, and I wish I could go outside and eat fresh banana peppers from my garden, and dig up some beautiful potatoes, whilst sipping an iced herbal tea to keep me cool under the sun. But it’s literally below freezing and will remain so for at least another month.
sigh

more and more

I don’t exactly know why I wanted to start eat vegan…I guess it came with a whole new awareness about a lot of things inside and out of me.
I try to cook vegan all the time but really struggle when I’m out and about.
When I maintain it I feel so much better for it.
I don’t like how media tries to make me feel paranoid about not getting enough of this or that when eating just vegan…but I know i eat more conscious than most people.
Also manage to eat better when I’m less stressed…it’s something I need to keep an eye on.

Although, like I said, I am a freegan by nature, so somedays I will throw in some dairy to the mix. And I don’t feel so good on those days. I think humans are all a little lactose intolerant, but some people build up a better tolerance. After not eating dairy for so long, my tolerance just goes way down and it makes me feel blah.
Aside from that, when I do eat entirely vegan, and in a whole and healthy way, I feel amazing! Alive, energized and in an annoyingly good mood a lot of the time.

So, I haven’t been on here a lot lately and I totally forgot I’d written this down. But! I have started the vegan thing. It’s great, too, because my roommate is doing it too, which is a huge help support-wise and we can cook for eachother!
About three days in, but so far so good!

I think cheese will be my only serious hurdle here. I haven’t eaten meat in about a year now, and I’m having zero issues with it. I rarely use milk, instead replacing it with soy/almond/rice milk.
I’m not real militant. I’m sure I’ll stray from what a vegan “can” and “can’t” eat, so I’ll cover my ass here. I’d like to eat “mostly vegan”...or “strictly vegetarian”. Also, I’m a freegan by nature, and if something presents itself, i probably won’t say no.

i’ve been eating vegan for about 3 months now! i cheated on thanksgiving day and had one treat over christmas, but other than that, i’ve been good. i think i’m over the cheese hump—i don’t crave it anymore.
i’m afraid i’ve been eating too many carbs lately though. it’s hard to eat fresh in the middle of winter in new england.
i want to make soup! i keep saying that and haven’t done it yet. have been making hummus and pesto though and it’s yummy!
