have to talk to the Robots 12 months ago

for some reason 43T wont let me take this off my list unless I mark this off as “completed” ... which I wasn’t able to do this year.
I did already write all about what happened and the whys and wherefores here
all in all I am very happy with the way this year turned out, and I’m glad I did “shoot for the stars”. If you don’t set your sights high, you never grow!

Victory and Defeat! 12 months ago

In the end, I managed a grand total of 231,819 words!

Whilst this was over and above my original target, and 50K higher than last year’s haul, my team still lost the UK & Ireland Regional Word War, by 606 words! Nooooo! I just needed another 4.8K to improve our average enough for victory!

Oh well… There’s always next year.

Victory at Last 12 months ago

Through storm and sun, Celtic Christian traversed the noveling seas. Pitted against a merciless deadline and fighting hordes of distractions, Celtic Christian persevered. Celtic Christian launched himself bravely into Week One, sailed through the churning waters of Week Two, skirted the mutinous shoals of Weeks Three and Four, and now have landed, victorious, in a place that few adventurers ever see.

We congratulate Celtic Christian on his hard work, salute Celtic Christian’s discipline and follow-through, and celebrate his imagination.

Celtic Christian did something amazing this month, novelist. We couldn’t be prouder.

    Ugh… too tired… to write…

    Also, my spacebarisbreaking.

    Keeping up. 12 months ago

I’m at 34k, and I’m not done for the day! I should get to 37k before tomorrow, to make up for my evening that will have to go to Toastmasters.

Fortunately I found Write or Die. Thanks, Leangel91!

    174,170 words 12 months ago

I’m aiming for 182,000 words by the end of tonight, which will put me ahead of last year’s word count by 800 words and easily in sight of my 200K goal!

Hopefully, I’ll nail the 200K by Wednesday night and then rock hard for the remainder of the month to see how high I can go, because something tells me I won’t be getting near this total in a hurry, so I might as well make the most of it!

Righty, got to 25k on Saturday BBT (before bedtime) and I really wish that the widgets would update instantaneously. There is no better motivator than those green and red bars. For the first time those dark grey ones are getting shorter.

40k by Monday BBT, easy peasy. I’ll be caught up with Chris Baty, ready for an easy cruise to next weekend. (The stuff we smoke here is good, isn’t it?)

    Milestone. 12 months ago

I’ve just crossed 20k. The words-per-day required are now piling up at an alarming rate.

At 18303 I am still seriously behind schedule, and if make 25k before the end of the month I have achieved a lot.

    That was the bad news.

The good news is that in a marathon session last night I wrote over three thousand words, and my daily requirement is still below that. With heroic effort and dedicating my weekends to the keyboard it can still be done.

I dislike heroics, but it can be done.
