read 1 book a month in 2008

Awww…this one was sad, but so inspired me. I realized, reading about the old professor, that I could be a lot more “present” around people. Usually, when I’m having a conversation, it’s “yep. uh-huh. sure.” while my mind is totally thinking about other less important things (like myself). Not that I’m less important, but I really could give it a rest & think about someone else for a change. :) I did learn some other important lessons in this book, probably stuff that I knew anyway, but it’s good to be reminded of…but I’ll just leave it at that for now. Definitely going to watch the movie again.

Done. I took my time with this one & read far into February. I’m picking a shorter book for February so I can get back on track. Besides all that, I truly loved Little Women & hope I have some little girls of my own to read this touching story to one day. Meg is my favorite character. I connected with her the most as she learned her lessons in a new marriage. Now I kind of want to read Jo’s Boys & the other sequels to this book. Also might read up about Louisa May Alcott online when I get the chance. I had no idea Little Women was based on her family. So interesting.
