I’m back to excercising on a regular basis!
I learned about Yoga for the People through a former co-worker of mine. At first I would go only sporadically (every 2-3 months).
Then I got dimissed from my job. Ha!
Nowadays I commute to St. Mark’s Street on a weekly basis to get to my yoga class. Since it’s a long walk for me I don’t go on a more frequent basis. Including walking and class, my time is blocked up from 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM. I know that my body is telling me to go twice a week, but it eats up so much of my time.
Oh—when I say once a week I mean approximately. I don’t have a designated day of the week (although I tend to go to class on Mondays and Tuesdays).

Ok… the past few days I didn’t do any of my planned exercises…
I need a way to get focused and to stay focused.
I believe it takes a month to make a habit stick… I need to get a way to get up early each morning and exercise for a month. I think part of getting that to work is getting the right exercises as well. And getting something to take my mind of the exercises while doing it. Watch a series or something or get an audio book.
Will think up some ideas and see if they work this coming week.

Did 20 minutes of aerobic workout this morning at 6:30. Apparently it is much more effective as a weight-loss tool if you exercise before you eat. I think I need some kind of aerobics routine or tool (like a cycle or treadmill) to help me out. I did on the spot running and some boxing moves but didn’t get to the level I wanted.
Tomorrow it’s time for lower body weight training. I’m a little unsure of how I’ll go about doing that, I don’t have a gym membership so I’ll have to make due with whatever I have at home. Let’s see how it goes :-)

I printed out an exercise schedule for myself. I want to reward myself every week if I can stick with it. It starts off with a Upper body weight training, an aerobic program the next day, lower body weight training followed by an aerobic program. Rinse and repeat.
I have a pair of 8kg dumbbells which I used today for the upper body weight training. I can feel that I’ve a long way to go. Biceps curls were easy, but most of the other exercises I tried were a bit hard to keep up.
It’s a first step, let’s see if I can keep it up :-)

Really really really, it does pay to invest in some sort of exercise equipment you can keep in your house (treadmill, elliptical bike, etcc…). It’s much easier to put off exercising when you don’t have to see the items you should be using. :D So, put your equipment somewhere you pass by often, to keep it on your mind.
If you really look at it 30 to 40 minutes of a day devoted to
exercise is actually a TINY increment that really pays off :) I know
it does for me! It reassures me, gives me lots of energy, wakes me up, and keeps me productive! (Not to mention that it provides a good example for other people).
Oh oh oh, don’t forget that it’s alright not to always “formally” exercise, which is using exercise equipment. If you walk to and from school and it takes you about 10-15 minutes at an average to brisk pace, that’s fine too! :)
Sorry for the long entry :P

My boyfriend is buying running shoes, because we both need to get back into shape. It’s nice to have a running buddy. It makes me feel more motivated. We’re also about on the same level. I made the mistake of trying to run with my 6’ 3” friend who’s a cross country runner. Baaaad idea. I need someone I can progress with. No one better than my boo :]

I can not get myself to go to the gym more than once or twice a week and never see results.
