Well, Ms Zanna, I hope you enjoy that your birthday celebration has been extended by a whole month thanks to my forgetfulness!
And here’s a martini cake with which to toast your birthday plus one month.
Cheers!

I hope you had the best birthday ever. Sorry I’m late. May you have a “smashing” year to come.

I was very sad
not to be able to be at the party due to lack of internet access, but I was definitely there in spirit, happily raising Martini glasses to the honorable agent Zanna amongst the towers of moving boxes in Casa Curlychaos. The poodles made sure to do some loud and ridiculous howling, and alternated between pointing to Germany and to the stars.
It sounds like you had a brilliant day Zanna, I`m especially glad you got the opportunity to do some loud and ridiculous singing! Birthdays would be nothing without that.

Zanna Campanula We warmly the milk (sheep's) in the cauldron until ebullience
hanging around at the back of the venue on friday night, swigging lovely cold beers and looking forward to Sir Bob and his band, when Professor R, the jazz fiend who’d only come because Bob’s last concert was such an absolute blast (in terms of what happened later), decided that he wanted to see some celebrities. “Don’t be ridiculous, Professor R!” shouted Zanna. “Celebrities don’t go to concerts. Celebrities only ever turn up in places you don’t expect them (case in point: germany’s pop idol/our street).” talk turned to matters more pressing until albert noticed wim wenders handing in his coat. we were still wondering whether wim actually lives in berlin when alb reported campino of the toten hosen as having arrived. next time i looked, he’d been joined by tv personality and cookery-show person alfred biolek . by that point we were quite expecting bono to walk in the door—but if he did we missed him.
anyway, Sir Bob put on a great show, and I’m glad to report that he is in much better form than 5 years ago, at the last Magical Bob Geldof concert, when “tortured” would have been a fitting word. well, yeah, his life had just collapsed. Dr M did her expressive dancing thing, Zanna did her loud and ridiculous singing thing, Professor R and Alb stood round being manly and noting that it was all very well but nothing compared to jazz / punk, respectively. i couldn’t decide whether to watch Sir Bob Geldof, or Wim Wenders doing a nodding-dance to Bob Geldof, or Dr M doing a pointy-arm dance to Bob Geldof. Bob mentioned that he hadn’t been writing much lately, and that when he did it all came at once, Dr M and I chorused “binge writer!” and determined to send him a copy of How to Write a Lot
after that we repaired to the pub where we ate Flammekuchen and drank beers with Professor P and Deb. Dr M had presciently given me a copy of 101 Things to do before you’re old and boring—and I had immediately been attracted by “stay up all night”. So when we got chucked out of the pub we moved on to an underground cocktail bar where we waved our arms and were outraged at young people and their vagaries until 6.30 am.
Magically, as is the case with Magic Bob Geldof Concerts, alb and i were in relatively fine form the next day. the same cannot be said for Professor P or Dr M, both of whom spent Saturday on their respective sofas nursing their respective headaches (but at least Dr M wasn’t sick in her parents’ garden this time). i put it down to my recent high-end healthinessfullllllness.
an excellent evening!

Happy Birthday
I’m usually inviting Zanna to join in on birthday celebrations, so I’m glad that it’s finally time to celebrate hers. Here are my birthday wishes for her for the coming year:
May you be in the here, now and always, even when you’re exploring strange new worlds, seeing out new life and new civilizations, and boldly going where no one has gone before. May you make the time to create your living will and make sure that your family knows your wishes before it is needed. And may you get those new running shoes so that you can continue to make progress on your couch to 5k running plan.
