The best weekend for seeing the Bore in 2009 is 21st/22nd August.
Hannah and Anita also want to do this.
How I did it: We staked out our space at the Severn Bore Inn, where dogs are allowed on leads, and there is a beer garden which is pleasant enough when the weather is nice. Luckily, we had a good evening for it.
The pub is right on the bank of the Severn, and the area of the river behind is floodlit, so even in the dark you can still watch the bore. There's was plenty of space to spread out along the bank either side of the pub as the time drew near.
It wasn't perhaps as 'wavy' as I thought would be, but worth seeing nonetheless. At some point it would be interesting to see it in daylight hours.

There are no good bores this year, so this will go on the long-term list, perhaps for next year…
