Done. I deleted the whole thing. I think I will take a break from it for a couple weeks. Then maybe reactivate it and clean up my “friends” list to leave only the people I really am close to and don’t want to lose touch with.

I want to do this so bad. Over the past few months I started noticing more and more how facebook can bring out narcissistic qualities in some people. I’m not sure if it’s me overanalyzing a simple social website… or if it really is a reflection of a drama-loving, self-absorbed generation at work here. Probably a bit of both I suppose.
I mean, it is kind of strange that some people post constant details of their life and other personal business on there for everyone to see, isn’t it? 43T is completely different because there is the factor of anonymity and the general purpose is to better yourself and have support in attaining your goals.
I don’t know if I should delete the whole thing, or just delete all my “friends” except for family and people I actually care about. Maybe it’s time I just start to write more real emails, make more phonecalls, and send more snailmail… Hmmm.

Acra_Red feels strangely empathetic for this one lady bug on her desk.
I deplore facebook and myspace. I wish I could delete my stupid facebook like I did my myspace. It was never valuable to me for networking, or anything else for that matter.

wasting my time… but so many friends and family only seem to know how to respond to facebook messages and not to email or phone calls.

Insegredious is wondering why there are these Facebook-esque status thingies now.
People say Facebook and MySpace and such are for interacting with people, but nothing could be farther from the truth. I was wasting my life on the internets. I’m so glad I did it. Proud of myself, too.
