Love is the way forward. Cleanse your heart from hate and you’ll feel a million times better.
Its so easy for me to think about nothing except my own schedule, my own wants, my own self. But I am called by my Captain, Jesus Christ, to love others, and that is what I want to do with my life. I want to experience “losing myself” by giving myself up to love for God and others.
Then one of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, and saying,
“Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?”
Jesus said to him, ”’You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’
“This is the first and great commandment.
“And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’
“On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”
That phrase “the Law and the Prophets” means all of the Old Testament! You might be vaguely familiar with the fact that the Old Testament is chalked full of commands—approximately 613 of them! (http://www.pressiechurch.org/Theol_2/All%20613%20laws.htm)
So what Jesus is saying here is that you can summarize ALL of those commands in the entire Old Testament with those 2 commands that He mentioned: Love God entirely and genuinely, and love people like yourself.
BUT REMEMBER, love is an action—NOT a thought, NOT an emotion, NOR a verbal statement. So this is an extremely challenging goal! But I’m gonna try my best because God also says that He is faithful to complete the work that He has started in me (Philippians 1:6) ever since I started to follow God a few years back…

Hello.
Yes,.. I can relate to some of these things. There’s one individual in particular at my workplace that sometimes makes little sarcastic remarks or whatnot, yet now I realize that he is probably just a really sad and lonely person on the inside and so I practice forgiving him, and so I am focusing on keeping myself busy and distracted and on creating positive thoughts for myself, and anyone else can do it too. :)

Yessss… I have managed not to be jealous of that girl that always tries to flirt with my man. I have managed to tell him, “Honey, go and have fun. I’ll pick you up later” without saying a word about her although I knew she would be there. I love him, and tried to think that she is still human and tried to like her (love her is too hard).
I am still working on loving my new manager. this is one of the ultimate tests! Will work on that. Although it may look like arse licking to some.
A friend has shocked me lately and sent me a very vile horrible message. I replied nicely and forgave her. Not just words. I really have found an excuse to why she had to say such things to me and said to myself, “I might have done that one day too, and I know I didn’t mean it”.
That’s progress right?
Jesus said the only way people would know we were Christians is by how we love people. I do want to love people more – I don’t think that I will ever win anyone to Christ until I start loving people.
...unconditionally, because they need it. all kinds of you, too. my family and old friends, new friends and strangers i pass on the sidewalk. the woman with the overwhelming odor and that guy who seems to know 100 ways to annoy me.
...without expecting to get anything – a smile, a thank you, a good story to tell later – in return. because that’s how Jesus did it, and that’s what He said to do. love people.
