Move my Mother-in-law

My father drove my wife and me down to Baltimore yesterday. We spent the night at a hotel near the airport. In about half an hour we will catch a shuttle over to the airport for our flight to Florida.

The kids seem happy to be spending a week alone with grandma and pap.

My wife, the kids and I all arrived safe and sound at my parent’s house in Pine Grove yesterday afternoon, just ahead of the heavy rains that blew through later in the day. This was a driving leg of the trip, through the southern tier of New York and the Endless Mountain / Coal Country region of northern Pennsylvania. We hit some patches of pretty dense fog up in the mountains. It looked like it was rising right off the snow pack. Tomorrow is Christmas, and the kids are excited about spending it with their grandma and grandpa.

My wife and I have both been toying with colds, undoubtedly stress related. However, after a night’s rest we are both improved today. Hopefully we will both be well again before we fly on Thursday.

The reservations are made and the bags are packed! Tomorrow we leave for my parent’s place for the Christmas holiday. After Christmas, my parents will drive us to the airport for the flight to Florida.

My mother-in-law has been living in Florida for the last ten or twelve years. We live 1,500 miles away in upstate New York. She began having heart problems three years ago, and really should not be living on her own any more. A few weeks ago she landed in the hospital again, and has finally come around to letting us move her back up here.

We have found a nice senior living facility a mile and a half from our house and half a mile from her old house. We are planning to move her things over the Christmas – New Year holiday, then fly her up and get her settled in the apartment the second week of January.
