i want to be able to communicate in a new language

i really cannot understate the importance of this goal to me…i have come back to it time and time again. i want to learn sign language because i think it is a language that has been designed for those with a handicap, but that not many others…especially care givers (doctors, nurses, psychiatrists, social workers, early childhood teachers, etc.) have chosen to learn. i think it is becoming increasingly important with the steadily increasing rate of those with special needs. i also signed up for elementary arabic for next quarter, which was a surprise even to myself. i don’t know how my conservative jewish family will think about this, but for some reason when i tried to tell my sister…she ignored me. hmmmm….
