I sold the tables to get extra move for my cross country move back home and honestly, while I still listen to EDm frequently, it’s nowhere near as big of a part of my life anymore. More jam bands and reggae, more indie rock and no place to listen to decent EDM anymore are to blame.

its weird reading that below but now finally managed to set up the nite. we’re on our 4th event now. we have a club residency and a bar residency. hence im djin regularly now. i would just like to say to everyone its alot easier than you think, just abit of determination and a few friends and its possible. at our first bar one a few weeks ago we were so proud of the turnout, its a real note of personal satisfaction making something like this a success.

the one dark side to it all was my original partner/organiser had sticky fingers when it came down to cashing up at the end of the nite. he contiually tried to rip me off. never trust a laptop dj. but thru all this i met huw and cris and now the nite is back to being what it should be about.

I finally have everything set up…now I just need to update my record collection cuz the hardstyle stuff I have now is about 2 years behind my tastes. I will spend this entire weekend practicing, i can’t wait!

Hey Mr. DJ! 2 years ago

Even though I used to play out a lot at Burning Man related events and everyone thought I was a DJ, now I have a regular gig as part of a performance troupe. It’s cool. One word of advice, tho: Do not, under any circumstances, try to monetize your creative energy. you’ll be a LOT happier, I promise you.

basically im on the brink of setting up my own night. its surprisingly easy. a nite wont be a success without some sort of name djing there, someone interesting, like ive seen so many people with good ideas and good music fall because they dont have that pullin power. musics such an open thing theres thousands of different djs with followings. im actually quite hazy at the moment and none of this is making any vague sense. my only stumbling block is if their definately gonna play (knifehandchop & drop the lime), ive had so many djs recently quote me the most ridiculous prices and demands but these guys sound like their gonna play and if they do its gonna be radio rental. but my original point was its all easy to set up…. find venue, blag some underground djs… dhakjdhksdhf

Getting started Again 2 years ago

I have my tables (Technics 1200 M3Ds) and I just picked up 85 records in San Diego so i am pretty much good to go on equipment. The only thing I need now is to buy all the cords and a card table/x stand to put everything on. God I miss having my ex set all my shit up for me sometimes.
