Release 366 books for the 2008 Leap Into the Wild 366 Challenge

I think my problem is that many of the books that I read are either not “release friendly” :) or they are on people RABCK lists. I’m also a big fan of RABCKs and BookMooch which gets books directly to people that want them. My wild release results aren’t very good. Although I did see someone reading a book I released at Potbelly a week or so after I released it. She was an employee and it didn’t get journaled. :( 3 years ago

I have completed this challenge! I started off super fast, but the last 50 books or so went really slow. I just got too busy. I was intimitated with this challenge in the beginning but it really wasn’t that difficult. It was good releasing experience for me since I am usually a nervous wild releaser. lol
Although I am a little disapointed that I only have about 7 catches so far. Hopefully I get some more since for me that is the best part of wild releasing books. Good luck to everyone else working on this challenge!! 3 years ago

I released #63 yesterday.
I’m such a creature of habit that I always go to the same places, and I hate releasing all my books at the same locations all the time. sigh

I’ve recruited my boyfriend into helping me – I sent him to the grocery store last night with a book, and even made sure he “themed” the release: he left Thin Ice next to the Smirnoff Ice. giggle

Oh, and only 3 catches for me. I am amazed at some of the catch rates people have. I live in such a lazy city! 3 years ago

Not much, but I’m trying to stay on track with at least an average of one a day, so I’m okay.

I dunno, for me, dumping multiple books at an OBCZ or Goodwill or exchange shelf is the easy way out, IMO. It takes more effort to actually take a book out with you everywhere you go and leave it somewhere. I’m sure at some point I will leave a few books at the OBCZ when I go to my next meetup (I always leave some anyway, so I may as well count them) but the majority of my releases with be true WILD releases. I doubt I will even reach the percentage allowed by Shaunie for releases to OBCZs, etc. 4 years ago

Honestly this challenge has been easy for me so far. I think I am motivated to clean out my house. I also think I am being honest with myself about what I really want to read, and what I will have time to read. I also decided to dump most of my hardbacks, they just don’t work for me. I’ve released all the books I prepared in advance for this challenge. Now I need to weed through and get rid of books I no longer want to read, books I have duplicates of, and most of the hardbacks, because they are just don’t work for me. 4 years ago
