write a song

ive written a lot recently and my next goal is to put the writing into music. I am practicing vocals and rapping and i currently have 1 or 2 songs in production. i would like to keep the momentum going, finish the songs in production and continue to create more.

My latest crush has inspired me to write at least one song. I have been a poet for years and now I am trying to teach myself to play the guitar, the next step is putting them together, I will write at least one song by next week. Wish me luck!

tried to yesterday. i started like 4 different things and they all ended up pretty much the same. everything always comes back to shitty, sappy, desperate songs about this one guy. but then again that is how my life works.. so it makes sense. its just not good music. it even happens when i try to write songs about something other than love or love related things. i guess its just how my mind works. i probably need something new in my life to get something new in my music. who KNOWS when that will happen.

this is really just the first step of a much larger goal. I figured I’d make a lot more progress if I made small goals so here is the first one.
I’ve written horrible songs in the past. Well, maybe not completely horrible, especially considering how old I was when I wrote them, but definitely not my style anymore. So my goal is more like to write a song that I am proud of and would want to perform in front of people. I have some songs started but nothing close to finished. I think this goal should be supported by my goal of learning to play the piano. Maybe I’ll actually complete this goal on one of those random days where I feel very inspired and musical.. its weird, those days just kind of pop up once in awhile.
