I’m trying to change my communication style. I’ve been told I can be harsh and I know I tend to nag.
In order to help me along in my impending career as a teacher, I am reading “How to Talk So Children Will Learn.” It’s very good. I’m struggling somewhat because it’s a 180 degree turn from the way I have seen children dealt with. I don’t want to find myself in a continuous power struggle with my students, so I am willing to change my views on communicating with them. I can see how this can pay off. I must be respectful, but firm.
