Just in the planning and research stages now, but I know it needs to be somewhere resonably priced for a student budget, something to do with animal rehabilitation, hopefully with an oppurtunity to work with their vet. I want to be there for a minimum of 2 weeks, a month would be AMAZING. Hopefully next summer…

Paraguay to volunteer with Amigos de las Americas. We stayed in an extremely rural place with the head nurse of the town, her sister, and her mother. We worked on securing latrines for the people in the area, health and hygiene at the school, and bulding stoves out of the earth. It was an amazing experience! Very fun, but extremely challenging at the time. My Spanish improved immensely (I’ve since lost a good deal of it), being away from home during my mom’s birthday was difficult, and just adjusting to a lifestyle light years away from your own was rough. But I’m beyond glad I went, and I would go back again in a heartbeat (provided I had some money, of course).

I’ve been living in Honduras for eight months working as a volunteer. It has been the hardest 8 months of my life, but 8 of the most rewarding as well.
