    full circle

I had the opportunity to go overseas for the first time a few months ago.

Lifechanging.. but, I did not actually ‘go snorkeling over a coral reef’ as I’ve done so many years ago, but swam nearby.
    (long story)

basically, I visited a beach and coral reef sanctuary where green turtles come to rest onshore, and one of these animals allowed me to sit, silently, a couple of feet away for quite some time. I would never touch, or disturb these wild animals, but it gave me ‘permission’ in so far as, once it made eye contact, and knew it was ok, it continued to doze and paid me no attention.

wonderful thing about wild animals is they are doing things for themselves, and are not doing ‘mystical’ or special things to please our egos

    mother turtle thankyou :)

I think this saved my life .. 12 months ago

I love the sound the fish make as they nip the coral. tck. tck. tck.

in early 1990s, in the midst of trauma, (family crisis) I had the gift of sailing with friends to a remote coral key in whitsundays for 10 days.

First time to Qld. It saved my life.

Quietly asked mother turtle whilst laying her eggs if she would take my sorrows on her hard shell back out to sea with her.

so, I hope to visit the reef again soon. I have a lot to be grateful for :)
