find some Christmas spirit

The day was mellow and chilled, everyone had a lovely time. We had a lovely dinner, roasted potatoes and parsnips, steamed broccoli, carrots, peas, stuffing balls and a homemade sos mix roll; which is veggie sos mix and stuffing wrapped in puff pastry. We also had trifle and a chocolate tart made by my sister-in-law, all vegan of course and very nice. I felt lucky to have such good food, to have the opportunity to be able to purchase and make it is a luxury compared to some!!! For that I am grateful. The little ones had a great day, presents and the company of all their big brothers, a pleasure for me also. I didn’t completely find the Christmas spirit that I was looking for and realistically I knew that I wouldn’t, but I did have a very nice day and for that I am full of appreciation… :)

Christmas day is here, there’s wrapping paper and presents all over the floor and there are lovely smiles on the little one’s faces… :)

but I am aware of the suffering that is occurring on the planet especially the issue of poverty and those that are homeless and those that are watching their children starve for want of basic food!!! This all goes on whilst we get into the materialism that Christmas has become… But saying all that I would like to reconnect to the feelings that I had as a child, to how magical it all appeared.
