I realized this goal was keeping me from adding new ones. I kept thinking of things I’d like to start working on and then going, “yeah, I should save that for next year’s list,” when I still have 4 more months of 2008.

One-time goals:
- fill my apartment with air purifying plants
- get my grandmother’s watch repaired
- visit at least 5 places on my 43Places list in 2008
- Get a digital SLR camera
- become a full time student
- find a signature scent
- make jam
- read all the Discworld novels
- buy a sewing machine
- take a photography class
- sell a freelance article that I’m proud of
- find the Korean penpal I had as a kid
- get prescription sunglasses
- buy vintage sunglasses frames
- paint my kitchen yellow
- paint the bathroom
- rearrange the living room furniture
- plant a windowbox garden
- acquire a pretty bra for every day of the week
- get my leather coat relined
- learn to play cribbage
Long-term aspirations for 2008:
- clean up my house and keep it clean
- make our apartment a place we really love
- Take vitamins daily
- start doing yoga again
- go on date nights with my husband
- be fluent in French
- revamp my wardrobe
- be a better photographer
- buy only humanely raised meat
- cook more vegetarian meals
- get on a regular housekeeping schedule
- pay off credit cards
- knit more
- stop hating laundry day
- bake more often
- grow all my own herbs
- make a family tree
- use less water
- get rid of all my clutter
- explore more of my city
- not be so nervous when meeting new people
And one more to hold them all:
- accomplish as many goals as possible in 2008
