because this was the hardest thing for me to imagine doing.
When I wrote this, I never believed I’d even step out the door.
Thankfully, a friend recruited me to help her and now I am doing 5 miles a week every week.
The weight is falling off of me and my body is screaming in jubilation! (Ok the knee joints are screaming, too!)
We are running a 5K in April and I can’t imagine how I got here so fast other than one foot in front of the other.
As a non-runner in my lifetime, this was a BIG DEAL for me and I am estatic to be doing this.
Thanks, all for the support each of you gave who encouraged me to get out the door.
That cold winter air did eventually feel great, but I was really reluctant.
I am so glad I did this.

I ran a distance…walked a distance….ran…walked…ran…walked…covered 2.5 miles….not sure what percentage was running…
A friend is starting too so we made a pact to do this together at least once a week.
Her way of doing this is
week one: run for 3 minutes, walk for 2
next week: run for 4 minutes, walk for 3
week 3, run for 5 minutes, walk for 3
anyway, you build up to 8 – 10 minutes cycles until you are running!!!
She wants to do a 5 k in a couple of months. Not sure that is my goal.
I am going to try this this week and this morning!

Monday = 0
Tuesday = 1.1
Wednesday = 1.2
Thursday = 1.3, recording my road-searing 18-minute mile
Friday = 0.4
OK, so this week, 4 miles. On Friday, I had to be out the door in the car a half hour early, which is why the short run.
Is OK! Next week awaits!
