Notice little things.

and gives me a small sense of “hurrah” whenever I spot something small, and beautiful. There are little bits of street art dotted around this city, and I’ve been keeping an eye out for them. It’s awesome because they can be quite subtle, you never know when you can spot one, and it feels like a small achievement when you do. And it’s like the artist wants you to see it, but it’s not mainstream!

It amazes me, these days, when I talk to certain friends and they never notice these things. Like they live through life in oblivion.

There’s a lot out there to spot :)

i want to stop taking life for granted

today, during a meeting, i noticed a tiny red spider on a page of notes which was handed to me, fresh and still warm from the printer. i watched it speed across the paper to the edge and disappear to the other side. i turned the page to glimpse the small spider once again, but all i found was a tiny red smear of blood. it was so fragile that the weight of paper turning squished it. :(

i googled “tiny red spider” and learned it was probably a chigger. ha! i didn’t imagine chiggers would be tiny and bright red and live in an office printer.

*edit. i saw a photo of a chigger and that wasn’t it. i believe now that it must have been a tiny red spider mite.

my friend and I were lying on the grass in front of a statue in town. When we got up, I noticed that we’d left ‘people prints’ in the grass, and I took a photo of that.

Just because I could.

In Cars, there is a moment of silence before someone makes a speech in which an audience member quietly yells, “Freebird!” Also, in the cloud patterns, you can occasionally see white fluffy cloud tire tracks.

The ears on my cat, Bonjour, whom I’ve had since I was four or five, are beginning to get white hairs amongst the black ones.(He is black and white, but the fur covering the top of his head and down his neck is black.) I’m eighteen now.

From now on, I’m going to try to notice something small everyday and to help condition myself into the habit, I will record it here.
